For the Cause Berwick Teen Center, in collaboration with the Bloomsburg Children’s Museum and the Nuts, Bolts & Thingamajigs Foundation, is excited to announce the launch of the “How Do You Make That?” camp. Starting the third week of July, this innovative camp will take place every Tuesday from 4:30 pm until 7 pm, with the exception of the second week when the class will be held on Wednesday at the same time.

The “How Do You Make That?” camp is designed to immerse teens in the fascinating world of manufacturing and design. Campers will have the unique opportunity to learn from industry experts, including Ayana Ife, a renowned fashion designer and runner-up from Project Runway. Ayana, who has been dressing women for over fifteen years and owns her own modest clothing line in Danville, PA, will be teaching the art of bag fabrication. Her extensive experience and innovative approach to fashion design will provide campers with valuable insights and hands-on experience in the world of textiles.

Ayana Ife has starred on Project Runway and debuted her fully modest collection at New York Fashion Week. She has been featured and mentioned in magazines such as Marie Claire, The New York Post, and Harper’s Bazaar Arabia, solidifying her reputation as a leading figure in modest fashion design.

In addition to fashion design, the camp will feature sessions with a jewelry manufacturer, offering campers a comprehensive understanding of the jewelry-making process. Participants will also embark on educational tours of local manufacturing facilities, including Wise Potato Chips, Dyco Inc, and Kawneer manufacturers. These tours will provide an inside look at how everyday products are made, offering a real-world perspective on manufacturing processes.

Camp Highlights:

  • Experience: Interactive tours providing a dynamic look at the engineering and design industry, offering potential career path explorations.
  • Innovation: Exploring the latest technologies and sustainable methods in manufacturing and design.
  • Fun and Learning: Engaging activities each week, covering various aspects of manufacturing, from food to textiles to jewelry making.
