In this weeklong workshop with Teacher Ruth, participants will learn the fundamentals of creating canes, or long
rods or logs made with a design that runs the entire length of the log. Each thin slice of the cane will have an
identical image, a technique borrowed from traditional glass art millefiori. Canes can be used for pins, buttons, pendants and earrings, and small objects like dishes, picture frames and jars. Polymer clay is readily available and easy to bake in a home oven.
