We’re already having a holly, jolly Christmas! It’s the BEST time of the year! We don’t know if there will be snow, but we’ve rounded up some cheer! Check out these highlighted events happening in the coming weeks that are sure to add festive joy to your family’s holiday season. Besides those below, there are MANY OTHER events happening in December. Keep checking back with the Bloomsburg Kids Calendar as new events are being added daily!

1. CHRISTMAS LIGHTS
We have a special section of our website dedicated to special wintry happenings entitled Winter Wonders! Click the link to discover 5 amazing light displays your whole family will enjoy.

2. CHRISTMAS MOVIES
The Campus Theater in Lewisburg is showing various FREE children’s Christmas movies this holiday season! Classics will include How the Grinch Stole Christmas, A Charlie Brown’s Christmas, and many more! See our Calendar for dates/times.

3. CHRISTMAS ON THE AVENUE
On December 9 & 10 from 5-9pm, walk through the magic of Christmas on Perry Avenue in Bloomsburg. Visit with Santa, mail letters to the North Pole, enjoy hot chocolate and more! All proceeds benefit the Montour Township Police Department Officer’s Association.

4. CARAVAN OF LIGHTS
On December 9 beginning at 5:30pm, decorate your car and join the caravan! After the caravan, children can visit with Santa at his house on Canal Street, where he will be until 8pm. You can participate in the caravan itself or by coming out to watch! Presented by Watsontown Area Business Association.

5. CHRISTMAS TRAIN DISPLAY
On December 9, 10, & 16 from 6-8pm, Elysburg Alliance Church will have various showcases of model Christmas trains in village settings, as well as refreshments and activities for kiddos!

6. CHRISTMAS AROUND THE WORLD
On December 9 & 10 from 5-9pm the Montour-Delong Jr. Fair Board will host an indoor/outdoor holiday event at their fairgrounds, including light displays, Santa and his reindeer, and many different vendors.

7. HOLIDAY FAMILY FUN NIGHT
On December 9 from 7-9pm the Bloomsburg Area YMCA will be holding a Family Fun Night including sports, activities, crafts, snacks, movies, and more! Free for members and $10/family for non-members.

8. HOLIDAY WREATH MAKING
As part of Merrill W. Linn Conservancy’s Family Nature Programs on December 10 (11th-rain date) from 2-3:30pm the Dale-Engle-Walker House in Lewisburg will host a FREE 90-minute program where kids of all ages can make thier own natural wreath (outside).

9. WINTER FEST, DOWNTOWN BERWICK
On December 10 from 5-9pm, businesses in Berwick have come together to host a FREE family event including face painting, a gingerbread house contest, crafts, Christmas Tree lighting, and live music!

10. MILLVILLE COMMUNITY CHRISTMAS IN THE PARK
On December 10 from 4-6pm, the annual FREE Christmas in the Park will take place at Millville’s Town Park with a gingerbread house contest, Santa, crafts, games, treats, and more!

11. 13th ANNUAL COMMUNITY FREE CHRISTMAS DINNER
On December 11 at 12pm, the Caldwell Consistory will hold a FREE turkey dinner with a craft area for kids, gifts, and live music!

12. TEEN NIGHT: UGLY CHRISTMAS SWEATER AND HOLIDAY PARTY
On December 16 from 6:15-8:45pm, the DACC will host a Teen Night for kids in grades 5+. They will be making Ugly Christmas Sweaters, having Holiday Karaoke, decorating cookies and more! Pizza, snacks, drinks, and fun music will be provided.

13. CHRISTMAS EVENTS AT ROHRBACH’S
Rohrbach’s Farm Market will be hosting several upcoming holiday events on December 17 including a Gingerbread Decorating Workshop, Kids’ Story Time and Crafts, and a Cookie Exchange (RSVP by December 12!) as well as Christmas Caroling @ the Farm on December 22 from 5-7pm, and Dinosaur Jingle on December 24 from 11am-12:30pm (rescheduled from December 3).

14. WINTER SOLSTICE LIGHT HIKE
Venture into Nescopeck State Park on the shortest day of the year (December 21) from 4:30-7:30pm to welcome winter with a self-guided, illuminated walk around Lake Frances. More than 300 lanterns will be lit along a 1-mile flat and easy walk around the lake and back. Enjoy cocoa, smores and a craft as well! (FREE event)
